T.O.M. Storytelling Hour: Story Guideline
Your Story length: 5 min – 10 min (roughly about 500 to 1300 words).

Stories must be yours, at least 80 % of it.
Please do NOT share any personal information you wouldn’t want to broadcast (it’s a public event).
The event may be recorded and published for promotional purposes.
T.O.M. Storytellers’ Lab will create your speaker image (with the choice of your profile photo) and will be on our website. We can add your homepage/SNS/book titles/etc
Before the event, we’ll send you the speaker’s login information. If you would like to rehearse before the event date, please let Misako know (email below).

Typical Schedule:
A month before the event
– Speakers application closes
– We’ll ask for your profile for promotion
– We start making your promotional image – with your permission, we’ll start promoting
– We’ll be happy to assist your story development. Tim and Misako are certified, public speech coaches
– We’ll be happy to check and advise on your online appearance (Lighting, Camera angle, etc)
A week before the event
– we’ll ask for your story title.
On the day of the event
– the venue opens 15 minutes before the event for storytellers’ last-minute camera/audio check.
– if your internet was interrupted, we’ll wait until you come back.
The day after the event
– we’ll send you the recorded speech (it’s yours to use)
– we’ll ask your permission to link your choice of URL (FB, Twitter, LinkedIn, Website, etc) and connect it to our website
